If All Arkansas Read the Same Book 2007

The Arkansas Center for the Book at the Arkansas State Library is pleased to announce Kevin Brockmeier's The Brief History of the Dead as our 2007 choice for If All Arkansas Read the Same Book.

Brockmeier, a critically acclaimed writer, is a Little Rock resident. He is also the author of two additional books for adults, The Truth About Celia and Things That Fall From the Sky, and a children's book, Grooves: A Kind of Mystery.

The Brief History of the Dead is about life, death, and the mysterious place in between. Terry Miller Shannon at the Bookreporter. com calls it "a stunningly enjoyable read, with an intriguing concept and a gripping plot, which should find a wide audience of readers who love science fiction, fantasy, philosophy, religion and/or adventure, as well as anyone who simply loves a great story."
